So here goes my first ever outfit post... And it comes in the form of a triple whammy.
THE BUTTON DOWN A-LINE
Skirt: Topshop | Jumper: Forever 21 | Top: ASOS | Plimsolls: Primark | Sunglasses: Topshop
Skirt: Topshop | Jumper: Forever 21 | Top: ASOS | Plimsolls: Primark | Sunglasses: Topshop
This shape of skirt is seemingly everywhere at the moment, and this trend is not slowing down for the autumn/winter season. ASOS, New Look, and Primark are now all catering to the button-down a-line on the high street, but as you can see I picked this white one up from Topshop and it previously featured on my blog here. This is really just a daytime casual outfit and to take it into the colder months I'll be opting for cropped jumpers like this one from Forever 21.
THE ONE WITH THE LACE INSERTS

Skirt: Warehouse | T-shirt: Topshop | Sandals: Topshop
I feel like as I'm getting a bit older, my style is also maturing a lil' bit. This skirt is definitely one of those pieces in my wardrobe that makes me feel more lady-like and grown up. This technically isn't a 'white' skirt, but being cream (or 'neautral' as ASOS call it) its not far off. The lace is unfortunately a little flimsy, but I give it a quick iron with my straighteners (a serious life hack for anyone who is lazy or is at/going to uni) and this makes it come out the skirt a little more. What I love about this skirt is that it can easily be dressed up or dressed down.
THE JACQUARD MIDI
Skirt, Cami and Heels: All Topshop
Another lady-like skirt and I adore the full skater shape to this. I bought this last year, and its the first midi skirt that didn't appear to swamp me or make my legs look a bit stumpy. The flowery jacquard detailing on this is so lovely and the dainty, strappy kitten heels paired with it give the look a very feminine touch. This is definitely my go-to outfit for a semi-formal event, and paired with flats, this was my favourite outfit I wore during my internship last summer.
So there you have it, I'm having a bit of a thing for white skirts at the moment. I never realised quite how hard it was to create an outfit post until now. There are multi outtakes still left in my Photos library, with grumpy, impatient faces included. But I have learnt a lot from this, so please let me know if you enjoyed this fashion post, should I do more like it?
Are you having a moment with a certain piece of clothing?

I love all skirt, but the first is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteI'm too worry to buy white bottoms as I'll probably drop my lunch on them.
Jenn | Jennifer Jayne
Ah thank you Jenn! Haha, I'm one of the clumsiest people out there, but I'm yet to stain these skirts, so I think being extra has paid off. Thanks for reading :) x

ReplyDeletehttps://jenniferjmo.wordpress.com
Thanks Jennifer! I definitely feel so girly wearing the last outfit, but I tend to save the skirt for special occasions/formal days out as its hard to wash :) x
DeleteLoving the first skirt! I have a similar one in blue denim but am now considering getting one in white! Also, your hair is soooo lush!

Thanks Laura! I was tempted by the blue version of the skirt, but thought the white was a bit more of a refreshing piece to add to my wardrobe. Aw thank you for your lovely comment :) xx

Do pop over to my blog, if you fancy of course, and tell me what you think!
Ah thank you for your kind words Bethany! I love the style of the first one too and I can definitely see why the shape has made the waves it has across the high street. My sister actually took these photos and its so nice to read that you enjoyed this post! Hope you have a lovely weekend :) x
DeleteI love the button down A-line skirt! I've always wanted one of those but I don't think it would suit me haha. You look fab in all of your outfits! :)
ReplyDeleteP.S your dog is super cute! <3
Sian xx Cakey Dreamer
Ah thank you Sian! I was a bit weary that the A-line shape wouldn't suit me either, but I tried this on in a size bigger than I normally would for bottoms and I love how the shape goes out from my hips instead of hugging them. Thanks for such a lovely comment :) x
DeleteWhat a pretty skirt Charlotte and your hair is amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteSimimaus
Aw thank you so much Simona, glad you enjoyed this post :) x
DeleteYou're rocking the white skirts, I really love that last outfit. And the dog. Give me the dog!

Ah thank you so much! I don't really know what's lead me to having such a big collection of white skirts. Haha aww, he's an English Setter if you're wondering and my family adopted him from eh UK charity Many Tears :) x
DeleteYour hair is actually amazing! It's how I'd love mine to be like if I was ever able to grow it out more! I love the first skirt which seems to be so on trend right now, but I don't really like wearing tight crop tops because it exposes the worst part of me... and they seem to work best with those skirts! I love all the skirts to be honest and I hadn't actually thought about buying a midi one because I'm so used to shorter skirts but it works so well!!
ReplyDeleteImogen // imogenscribbles.co.uk
Aw thank you Imogen for such a sweet comment! Yeah the a-line button down seems to be everywhere at the moment. I never used to wear tight crop tops either as I hate my stomach, so I tend to buy ones which are a bit longer to cover myself up a bit more but the skirts also work well with thin t-shirts :) Before the last one I never owned a midi skirt, as I thought they made my legs look a bit stumpy but this skirt manages not to do it which is why I love it! I'd definitely recommend you try some midi skirts out :) x
DeleteThese are some stunning looks. Very fresh & feminine. I love the first one with the button down white skirt. It's gorgeous. :]

Thanks for such a lovely comment! I do love a bit of monochrome too. Hope you have a great weekend :) x
DeleteWhite is the ultimate summer clothing colour!
ReplyDeleteI've been wearing this palm printed shirt to death and should really stop but it's too cheesy to not wear in the heat of August.
Dar | www.holylipstick.com
It really is, I love an all white outfit too as I think it literally screams summer! I've been loving palm prints this season, but I'm yet to pick any pieces of it up. Haha it definitely sounds like the perfect thing to wear in the heat if summer :) x
DeleteOh my. Every single skirt you featured here needs to get in my closet NOW!! Plus, you're hair in the most luxurious amazing thing right now. (hope that didn't sound too creepy) Hahaha I've been wearing the death out of my yellow jacquard skirt lately. Followed you via Bloglovin'! Hope you follow back
