As this post is going up later than originally planned, it doesn't include the beauty bits I got for my birthday (but if you're interested in that click here). But what it does include are some very recent additions to my beauty stash that I've been loving, flatlay-ed on the aesthetically pleasing concrete kitchen tops of Shore CottageSo starting from the top centre of the first photo, I'll work my way around clockwise.

So first we have the Super Facialist by Una Brennan Salicylic Acid Anti Blemish Purify & Refresh Facial Scrub which may be a mouthful to say, but is pretty great at giving my oily, blemish prone skin a deep cleanse and great at removing any flakes of dry skin caused by lingering blemishes. The micro-beads in this scrub a little larger than most, so this might not be the best formula for sensitive or really aggressive spots/acne. As it was on offer I also recently picked up the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water as a lighter/summer alternative to my usual makeup remover Super Facialist by Una Brennan Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Renewal Cleansing Oil. It's super gentle on the skin and great value for money, but I find my ol' trusty oil to be more effective at removing makeup so I don't think I'll be repurchasing this when it runs out. Talking of an old trusty product, I also recently picked up a small Lush Tea Tree Water toner. I won't bore you here, all you need to do is type "tea tree" in my search box at the side to get an idea of how much I love this formula and just how easy it is to apply - seriously if you are a no fuss person when it comes to a skincare routine, this spray is your bestie.

When a NYX counter finally landed in my local Boots, I rushed straight to the liquid lipsticks and picked up the Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes - a gorgeous super long-lasting dark pinky nude matte, which doesn't leave your lips feeling dry at all. Another makeup product ticking my boxes at the minute is the Soap and Glory Kick Ass All is Calm Anti-Redness Concealer. My complexion has been really red recently, and so this has worked wonders as a colour corrector under my foundation but the formula is quite heavy - so if anyone has any colour correcting recommendations on the thin/light formula side, send them my way! I was kindly gifted the Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo in Script* shortly after its launch and it's a lot more of a sheerer, glossier finish of lipstick to what I would opt for (I am pretty much a matte-lip kinda gal) but this again is a dark dusky pink nude which makes me feel v sophisticated when wearing it. It's been a while since I last picked up a L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Ultra Precision Black, but I was having difficulties with a dried up felt-liner and so thought I'd return to a trusty favourite. This formula is the best longevity for a liquid liner that I've tried from the drugstore but is easy to correct when you make a mistake during application and has quite a wet/shiny finish to it, which I really like.

Although this is the mini version of the Clinique High Impact Mascara*, it still packs a punch. It leaves my lashes super volumous (is that even a word?), long and fans them out - I think this is possibly my favourite mascara formula ever, but when it runs out I'll be investing in the waterproof version because I once got caught in a storm and was left looking like a sad panda. For a spot fighting moisturiser, I've had a recent love for Avène Clearance Expert  - it's a creamier and denser solution than my usual pick of La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo[+], but smells heavenly and melts into the skin dreamily. Last but not least is the Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Chunky Cherry*, which is super easy to apply, a gorgeous hot pink colour and the balm leaves a sheer layer of colour and a lot of moisture.

What are the latest additions to your makeup and skincare collections? And have you tried any of these products?

New In Beauty: The Latest Additions to My Makeup and Skincare Collection

Scottish Highlands Staycation Photo Diary

24 July 2016

I don't know about you, but I'm feelin' 22!!! So as I now have a right to sing Taylor Swift all day, everyday (until late June comes around again), I thought I'd share with you the bits and bobs I got. Please note that this in no way a braggy post, I am so so grateful to have been given these things - this is just one for those blog readers out there who love having a bit of a nosey (which includes me, I love reading bday present 'hauls'/vlogs).

I'll start from the bottom left corner of the top photo and work my way round clockwise! So first off is the gorrrgeous Whistles Leather Rivington Clutch in Faux Lizard (via ASOS), which I've been in love with since Christmas and it has been in my Saved Items list ever since. I was inspired by Anna's Croc version of this, but I prefer the more delicate detailing in mine. This fits a tonne inside, the delicate chain is detachable and it is one of the most grown up handbags I have ever owned - only thing missing is a lil' inside pocket for valuables. Secondly, I got a Zara Gift Card which is so damn fancy it comes in it's own box. I'm hoping to spend it on the Poplin Jumpsuit Dress, if I can get hold of it in my size. Lush's Whoosh Shower Jelly definitely makes my morning showers more interesting and the description on the packaging about woobly bits does make me giggle. Though a little tricky to use, the fragrances of seaweed, grapefruit, lime and rosemary is like a caffeine kick for the senses.

This Topshop Navy Pleated T-Shirt, is made out of silky smooth material and I'm sure will be the perfect piece for evening drinks or the workplace (for when I, you know, finally get hired...). I've had a good natter about Chloé's perfumes on the blog before, but this is the first time I've featured the original on here as I've not repurchased this for years. The Chloé Eau de Parfum has notes of peony, rose, amber, cedar and freesia, and together this medley of scents is very sophisticated, a bit musky and a perfume that sticks around all day. I then also got a Topshop Gift Card, which also comes in cute packaging. Not too sure what I'll be spending this on, but I'm currently deliberating over these Hoop Earrings and this Pyjama Style Shirt.

I FINALLY HAVE STAN SMITHS! I'm always late to the party, but I now finally have my hands on the trainer of the moment. I preferred this Zig Zag style as it's a little different to everyone else's but if you want this edition, they are now in the sale everywah. I tweeted that wearing these beauties is like walking on structured clouds, and it is - they are SO comfy (if you can't tell, I think I'm in love). The white cropped sweater is from Brandy Melville, and is super super soft as always with their clothes and has a cute graphic of Newport Beach printed on the left boob area. Next, is the Rose Jam Bubbleroon from Lush which is so strongly scented, I think I'm going to wait a while before using it, as the Rose Jam fragrance shouldn't be reserved just for Christmas time like its shower gel is. It's bright pink, sparkly, smells of roses and comes with all the amazing Lush ethics, I couldn't ask for more in a bath product tbh. And now for my latest beauty bae, say hello to MAC's Strobe Cream. I've started mixing this in with my foundation, as well as applying it to my upper cheekbones, and gives my complexion the subtle luminosity and healthy glow it so badly craves - forget 5 stars, I'd give it 500.

Have you tried out any of these products? Have you got a gift recently that you're in lurve with? What's on your wish-list at the mo?

What I Got For My 22nd Birthday
