Whenever I'm asked the question "If you could be anyone else in the world who would it be?", my answer has always been (and may always be) "Queen Bey". From this you can probably guess that I was over the moon when I managed to secure priority tickets to see her perform at the Stadium of Light. So here's my thought process during the concert, in  Buzzfeed-esque style... *WARNING: contains set-list spoilers*

Before the concert
1) Waiting 6 hours in the rain will totally be worth it
2) The runway stage comes out pretty damn far, she'll be as close as that man sweeping the rain off the stage OMG
3) *Support DJ comes on and plays an array of random songs* well you're only going to make Bey look even better at this rate mate with your constant posing, sounding your horn and playing off your laptop
4) *Plays Jay-Z* can't you just bring the real thing out?
5) Bey's over 40 mins late, but she's a diva/the female version of a hustler so she can do what she wants but I'd rather she came out soon 'cause my feet hurt

During the concert
6) OMG it's starting OMG OMG
7) The turning light box thing on stage is amazing and the visuals ahhh
8) Someone behind in the crowd has fainted HELP STEWARDS HELP
9) Okay dat's sorted, ooh here come the dancers in the formation hats
10) Who knew wide brimmed hats could be so effective?
11) "If y'all came to slay tonight, say I slay" "I SLAAAAY"
12) Must navigate my eye-sight through the sea of phones to see her
13) That hair flick though
14) Sorry, I AIN'T SORRY, Sorry, I AIN'T SORRY
15) "Middle fingers up, put 'em hands high"... this is the only time I will willingly wave my middle finger in the air
16) HE BETTER CALL BECKY WITH THE GOOD HAIR
17) Literally who needs Becky, look at her!
18) Who run the world? She run the world, she really does
19) *Superpower Interlude plays* she literally has superpowers, only she could dance that rigorously and still sing that good
20) The original Baby Boy choreo!!! Heart-eyed emoji central
21) HOLD UP THEY DON'T LOVE YOU LIKE I LUV U
22) I literally love you B
23) The Countdown choreography is perf
24) *Intro to Me, Myself and I* "Have you ever had your heart broken? [...] The most important relationship you will ever have is with yourself, so this song is about learning to be your own best friend"... Oh look I'm crying (there was more emotion to the speech I promise)
25) "If I lose myself I lose it all", yep Runnin' (Lose It All) has started up the waterworks again
26) "This is my favourite song of the new album and it's about redemption", ok here comes All Night eek
27) ALL NIGHT LONGGGGG, I could listen to your angelic voice all night long
28) Wish I had that much swagger when I walk/was cool enough to pull that off
29) SHE STACKING MONEY, MONEY EVERYWHERE SHE GOES
30) ASHES TO ASHES, DUST TO SIDECHICKS
31) WHO THE F*** DO YOU THINK I AM
32) Don't hurt yo'self
33) Yaas the queen has a throne
34) This would be the perfect time for her to go into Ring the Alarm
35) YAY ring the alarm I can't do this no more, but I'll be DAMNED IF I SEE ANOTHER CHICK ON YOUR ARM
36) ALL MA WOMEN WHO INDEPENDENT THROW YOUR HANDS ABOUT ME
37) She is the definition of a diva/queen/slayer/goddess
38) Of course sometimes s*** goes down on an elevator OOOOOOOOOO GOD DAMN GOD DAMN GOD DAMN
39) Omg I hope she brings Nicki out!!!
40) If I had the room in front of me in the crowd, I would bow down
41) I woke up like dis - how do you do the hand that accompanies it though
42) I'm feeling ma'self and Beyoncé has every right to be feeling herself with those abs
43) "Changed the game with that Lemonade drop, Know where you was when that Lemonade popped" OH I LOVE THIS PLAY ON LYRICS
44) Only "Bad Bitch B" could own fan reactions like that
45) If I could have half of her sass, I'd be happy
46) Yoncé all on his mouth like liqour - but can you blame him?
47) "Cigars on ice, cigars on ice" e-e-e-e-e-e-e
48) Drunk in lurvee, we Bey all night
49) *Starts to sing Rocket* "Let me sit this..." Whole arena: ASSSS *Beyoncé proceeds to laugh* WE MADE HER LAUGH
50) I hope she sings Freakum Dress for real but the Pharaoh Dress isn't one (but she can legit pull off any item of clothing)
51) Omg Daddy Lessons is definitely next
52) "My Daddy said shoot" oh lol my hands are forming a gun in the air I was so lost in the moment
53) *Bey sings Love on Top acapella* Oh god, I'm crying again
54) And now it's 1+1, why did I hate this song when it first came out it is beautiful
55) She is also beautiful
56) And that voice is beyond beautiful
57) How high her voice is going has only proved my theory that she isn't human
58) *Prince Tribute* more tears in eyes, and seriously how does that box turn like that?
59) *Crazy In Love comes on* yay they're finally using the moving walkways - oh so smooth - strut it gurl
60) Okay I don't think anyone was ready for that jelly, can I have your figure please B?
61) "I'd love to love you baby" anybody would be lucky to love you, let's be honest here
62) CAUSE WE LIKE TO PARTY, EY, EY
63) Sweet dream or a beautiful nightmare? This concert is definitely a sweet visual and audio dream
64) *Cue die with you/Blue interlude* more tears, Bey and Jay are couple goals I don't care what anyone says
65) I HAD MY UPS AND DOWNS BUT I ALWAYS FOUND THE INNER STRENGTH TO PULL MYSELF BACK UP, I WAS SERVED LEMONS BUT I MADE LEMONADE - I need to make this my mantra
66) Freedom, Freedom where are you? The dancing on the water is truly beautiful, what an amazing idea Bey/Bey's stage people - if only the entire crowd weren't filming it and I could actually see the whole thing
67) It would be absolute goals to be one of Bey's dancers - body, squad and dancing goals
68) "If you've survived a loss in your life, if you've survived losing a job, survived a hater [...] then this is for you" oh god Bey stop making me tear up, I never thought I could cry at survivor but here I am
69) Punchin' the air cause I survived a hater
70) End of Time is one of the most underrated Bey songs
71) As is Grown Woman
72) Bey literally is a grown woman, and can do whatever she wants
73) Oh god here comes the finally and more tears
74) Halo is such a beautiful song
75) She says her last thank yous, but she's not said Sunderland once, she probably doesn't know where she is
76) "This is my first show in Europe"... Erm B, guess you didn't know that's a touchy subject at the moment either?
77) Don't care if she's not aware of her whereabouts, that voice and soul holy mama!!
78) The Schoolin' Life outro comes on, which I love, but can't relate to the "Who needs a degree" lyrics cause I really need mine

Post-concert
79) THAT WAS THE BEST CONCERT I HAVE EVER SEEN and probably ever will (unless I see her again obvs)
80) Now after fear of leaving our good spot, I haven't eaten since 2.30 and now I'm really light-headed, someone get me a greasy takeaway

Hope you enjoyed this (hopefully) more comical style of post compared with my usual ones. Beyoncé was amazing and I'm still in shock that I was about 5 metres distance from my idol and her goddess self.

Are you as much of a Bey fan as me? Have you ever fan-girled this much?

We've all been there and had a bad night's sleep, whether that's down to late night studying, giving in to the next episode(s) of a series after midnight or just being unable to switch off. So for those mornings when you need to look awake, here are some beauty tips and tricks to make it look like you got your solid eight hours in...

Invest in a Good Eye Cream: To reduce the appearance of tired eyes, I'd definitely recommend in investing in a good cream to counteract under-eye puffiness and dark circles. The Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream costs £20, which definitely isn't easy on a student's wallet, but this formula has really worked to brighten up my peepers. Although the directions advise to apply this in the AM, I find it to be more effective using it before I go to bed, avoiding the puffiness and dark circles in the morning if I know I won't be getting much shut-eye that night.

Brightening and/or Colour Correcting Concealer: To cover up any under-eye baggage, I tend to opt for Bourjois' Healthy Mix Concealer as I notice this to be a lot glowier than other concealers on the high street. I apply this a triangle under my eye before patting and blending it in with a makeup sponge. When tired, I've also noticed my cheeks to be rather red and recently purchased the Soap and Glory Kick Ass All is Calm Anti-Redness Concealer to colour correct this under my foundation and I'm loving it so far.

White/Nude Eyeliner: This beauty hack has been around for a while, but applying white/nude eyeliner to the lower waterline can make your eyes appear wider, more open and cancel out redness caused by tiredness. My favourite for this is the Rimmel Soft Khol Kajal Eye Pencil in White as I feel it makes my eyes pop a lot more than a nude shade and I'll smudge this within the inner corner of my eyes too to add to the faux wide eye effect.

Pile on the Highlighter: Feeling tired can be reflected in a dull complexion, and so I'll apply a bit more highlighter on than usual in the morning after a bad night's sleep. I'll swirl the Mary Lou Manizer by theBalm highlighter along the tops of my cheeks, brow bone, just under my cheekbone contour, down my nose and lightly dust it in the inner corners of my eyes. On the apples on my cheeks I'll opt for  Soap and Glory's Love at First Blush as it's super glowy too. I'll also go easy on the bronzer and contouring that morning to make sure the look is more glowing than defined.

If all else fails, distract them with a bright lippy: To divert attention away from any under-eye darkness or puffiness or dull skin, a brightly coloured lipstick is the perfect distraction - especially an orange-toned red shade. My favourite all time lipstick is the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square, it's food and drink-proof, applies smoothly, creamily and evenly and lasts pretty much all day. It's also a beautiful shade that makes your teeth look whiter, what more could you want from a lippy after a bad night's sleep?

What beauty hacks do you use to fake a good night's sleep? Do you use any of these tricks?

Beauty Hacks to Fake a Good Night's Sleep

Alongside The Butterfly Cabinet, Arlo in West Jesmond is my favourite spot for brunch in Newcastle. After nearly four years of living and studying here, time again Arlo has never failed to heal a hangover or fill me up for the majority of the day ahead. I lived round the corner from this cafe/bistro last year and so saw it transform from a student hit for breakfast, mums' coffee stop around the afternoon school run and then the lights dim for a cute candlelight dinner. Across all three meals the food is always delicious.

My housemates and I thought it would be nice to revisit one of our favourite places the morning after my dance show and it was good to be back. The interiors are quirky and cute, but also comforting. They stop serving breakfast at 12pm so it's best to head down at 11.30 at the latest as there is always quite a few tables ahead of you in the queue.

I opted for a Vanilla Latte to drink and two of the girls went for tea. Then to eat I chose the Eggs Royale made up of a toasted muffin, spinach, smoked salmon, hollandaise sauce, mixed seeds and eggs that were poached to perfection. Also on the table here was the Cooked Breakfast, Cooked Veggie Breakfast and Eggs Salvador (which was the Royale but with the salmon swapped with chorizo). As a cheeky desert me and Grace opted for a homemade Triple Chocolate Brownie whilst Hannah went for a Huge Hot Chocolate which comes with all the trimmings including mini marshmallows. brownies and rocky road pieces.

Aside from being Instagram gold, the food is decently priced, delicious and enough to give you a comforting food baby. If you are ever in Newcastle and looking for a place for a breakfast/brunch/lunch destination, head here as the staff are always friendly and will get you seated asap. There is a reason for the queue.

I have sung praises for the brand Super Facialist by Una Brennan a fair few times on this blog, and currently my review of the Salicylic Anti Blemish Clay Mask is my most read post ever (thank you if you’ve read it, and if not, it’s in the sidebar if you wanna *insert smirking emoji*). Hands down it is the best face mask I have tried that will visibly clear and smooth out my complexion overnight and so understandably I wanted to try more from the brand's Anti Blemish range.

When it came to repurchasing my La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel, I instead opted for this in the hope of finding a dupe at a more reasonable and student friendly price. Although this lacks the thin consistency of Effaclar and is a lot thicker, I'm overall really impressed with the Salicylic Acid Anti Blemish Purifying Cleansing Wash. Salicylic acid is widely known for its spot fighting qualities and the refreshing feeling that's left after using this, it's like you can feel the cleanser really working to detoxify and deep cleanse the face. I've always preferred gel and foaming cleansers to cream ones or those you use with a flannel with having oily skin, as I feel the best method to rid my oily skin of its excess oils - but this can also be used with a warm damp flannel.

I use this in the morning and in the evening as a second cleanse, after I've removed my makeup. What I like most about this is that it works to deep clean and clear congested skin of its impurities but doesn't strip the skin of all it's moisture and with elderflower as a key ingredient, it works to balance the complexion helping it to be and look healthier and clearer. I can't vouch that this cleanser has left my skin completely clear with the stress and the amount of refined sugar I've had to fuel my long shifts in the library recently, but I do believe it's working to keep my hormonal breakouts at bay.

Overall, I'm really pleased with this cleanser and would happily repurchase this. As a drugstore cleanser, it packs a punch in it's anti-blemish powers and leaves my skin feeling refreshed but not tight or dry.

What's your favourite cleanser at the moment? And have you tried any of the Super Facialist range?
