Chloe's Love Story Eau de Parfum: a Review

23 March 2016

Hey stranger, it's been a while. I won't ramble on about excuses for not blogging for a while, because let's face it, you probs don't care. But anyway, after losing my mojo, I've finally found some motivation to get my arse in gear and get back to what I love doing, which is writing - whether that be beauty product rviews, resturant reviews or OOTDs, I have a backlog of content to get through - so keep your eyes peeled because I'M BACK

To anyone familiar around these parts, you'll know I am a big huge fan of Chloé fragrances (feel free to have a browse here), so it'll come as no surprise that whilst in Duty Free at the end of Decemeber I headed straight to the Chloé counter and picked up this. The Love Story Eau de Parfum launched back at the beginning of last year, but around the Valentine's Day just gone, more buzz was created around the fragrance as bloggers received a personalised engraved version of the bottle. The packaging itself is modelled on the shape of a padlock, in a nod to Paris' Pont des Arts or Love Lock Bridge - which is pretty darn cute, don't you think? And the ribbon and ridges along the back definitely give it a classy and very Chloé touch.

The scent itself is very similar to the original Chloé perfume, but is a lot lighter and a bit more feminine. Overall it is a floral scent with top notes of orange blossom and heart notes of jasmine stephanotis, but the base notes of cedar wood add a darker muskier feel to it and to me this adds a senusal note to the perfume. I'd describe it as a clean and sexy fragrance that can be worn both day and night. I'm going through this bottle so quickly, I can see a repurchase on the horizon. It's not the most purse-friendly of high-end perfumes (it was around £65 for 50ml), but it smells so dreamy, it's a price I am willing to pay.

What's your current favourite perfume? And have you tried any of the Chloé fragrances?

  2. This sounds really good, though I've never tried any Chloe fragrances before- I do love the packaging though. I think one of my favourite scents would have to be Jo Malone's English Pear & Freesia.
