Old Favourites: My MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencils

16 December 2015

MAC certainly is a brand loved by many, but with focus on their limited edition collections, lip liners, lipsticks, foundations and eyeshadows - what about their other products? Before trying out any of their crazily hyped about items, the first ever MAC product I came to own was this Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Forever Green. After reading about how the colour green could enhance brown eyes I set out on the hunt to find an olive or khaki coloured wonder and spent a little extra pocket money on this liner.

With slight hints of gold within it, the colour really does help to brighten my boring brown eyes. The creamy formula glides on the eyelid so easily and is seriously long lasting, both in the pencil itself and on the eyelid. The metallic pencil is also smudgable before it sets, making it easy to blend the colour across the eye, and once it has set it hardly budges. The waterproof quality to the pencil definitely lives up to it's name.

Having loved this pencil so much, I went on to purchase another and this is in the shade Bountiful Brown. The gold bits of glitter here are certainly more noticeable (as I'm sure you can see from the swatch) and being a brown, it definitely is the most wearable shade out of the two. I personally love pairing this with shades from my Urban Decay Naked Palette or smudging it all over the eye in a one colour look, whereas I prefer wearing Forever Green in a line across the eyelid. At £14 a pop, these certainly aren't the cheapest eye liners, but they last for years and the creamy formula has a luxurious feel to it - so is well worth the investment in my eyes!

Have you tried any of the MAC Eye Pencils? Or is there a product you perceive to be a hidden gem amongst a well-loved brand?

    1. Oh no it's definitely not worth being embarassed about! If anything, I don't think I've read any other blog posts that talk about these liners. They are definitely worth a swatch when you're next near MAC as they are lovely pencils :) x

    1. They are such a lovely alternative to black liner and I love how their colour really enhnaces the brown in my eyes! Yeah this line from MAC is pretty much a hidden gem as they seem to have had no coverage on the blogosphere. I'd really recommend trying them, they're so creamy and the finish is so metallic :) x

  4. I haven't tried any of these Eye Pencils but I really love both of these shades, I don't normally like green shades but the flecks of gold in that one are really beautiful.

    1. Yeah these pencils seem to be pretty unheard of in the MAC hype!! These are lovely shades. I remember when I first started using eyeliner and went colour crazy but this green is definitely more sophisticated, and the gold in it looks lovely with its metallic finish. Thanks for reading lovely :) x

    1. Yeah their eye pencils aren't generally raved about so I'm not surprised that not that many people have tried them! I went through a really colourful eye makeup phase in my teens, so these are really muted and so much more natural than my experimental days... But I'd really recommend the brown, as it is no much softer and more natural looking on the eye than black. Definitely worth a swatch if you're unsure, or maybe try out a cheaper pencil by another brand if you're unsure? :) x
