Nails on Sunday: Snowflakes for Christmas

21 December 2015

This post is going to be fairly short and sweet but I thought it was worth sharing how I'm adding a bit of festivity to my fingertips this Christmas. I did a post on some Santa Hat Nail Art this time last year if you fancy something a bit more technical, but with a mountain of essays and revision to get through this holiday, I wanted to go for an easier, less complicated look.

To prep my mits for painting, I used L'Occitane's Fleur Chérie Hand Cream which has a gorgeous, light florally fragrance to it and with ingredients including shea butter and grape seed oil, it's perhaps not suprising just how nourishing the stuff is. I then applied three coats of Essie's Blanc. Having tried to source this a little more cheaply, I ended up getting Essie's old packaging and the brush isn't half as good as it is now. For the snowflake effect I used Essie's Sparkle on Top Top Coat, which I purchased as part of the Twinkle Belle Nail Set. The glitter within the top coat is composed of mixed sizes, but each little piece is a greeny-pink irredescent colour which in my opinion is lovely. This polish subtley adds a bit of glitz to colour without being to in-your-face.

What nail look will you be donning this Christmas day? Have you tried any of these Essie polishes?

p.s. Due to technical and lighting difficulties this post didn't go up on Sunday like I wanted it too, but I still wanted it to be a part of my "Nails on Sunday" series I have kept the post's original title!

    1. Thank you Emily! I was thinking that white nails were best with a tan in summer, but pairing them with this glittery top coat brings the shade into Christmas I think. Hope you liked this post :) x
