A Wintry OOTD: Subtle Sparkle

9 December 2015

Jacket: Oasis | Jumper: Mint Velvet | Knitted Vest: French Connection | Jeans: Topshop Jamie | Boots: Call It Spring via ASOS | Phone Case: GoCustomized*

We are now into the full swing of the festive season and in the true spirit of Christmas, I'm donning everything in my warbrobe that is remotely sparkly. For those you of you not embracing the cringey, full-out and sometimes tacky festive jumpers, here's a little bit of inspo on how to inject the glitz of the holidays into your attire.

This snuggly Oasis jacket is one I've had for a fair few years and was well worth the investment. The weather-worn material gives it quite a unique feel too. As the #SheepskinSweats are a real first world problem, I'll only crack this out in the height of winter or when paired with a thin jumper like this one from Mint Velvet. The sheer mink colour allows this to go with pretty much anything, and the small silver beads add a subtle bit of embellishment. This metallic knitted vest from French Connection actually used to be my mums, but luckily for me it shrunk in the wash. There's currently a really similar (yet sheer) version of this in Topshop that I was about to purchase until my mother pulled this out of her warbrobe - saving me some dollar. With this jumper being slightly too big for me, I like how the silver straps of this vest can accidentally be on show and that the sparkle of it is subtley exposed through the thin material of the jumper.

My favourite jeans ever are of course my black Topshop Jamie Jeans - the perfect high-waist, slightly cropped fit hugs my legs and hips in all the right places. I found these Call It Spring Marguarite Snake Effect Flat Western Boots over on ASOS, and they have managed to answer all of my black ankle boot prayers this year. They are so comfy and I've been looking for a pair of flat black boots since last year - 'cause I'm that fussy. I finally gave in to the blogger cliché of a marble print case with this offering from GoCustomized*. The online company specialises in personalised phone cases, and I chose this design out of their popular images but you can very easily upload your own image and they will print it for you! If you've ever wanted to design your own phone case the site is easy to use and the case is delivered shortly after placing an order. I never knew a phone case would make me feel more sophisticated until now.
How are you embracing the festive season in terms of your warbrobe?

p.s. sorry for looking like such a grump in the second photo, I was really tired the day of shooting and it's the only decent full length shot haha

Disclaimer: this phone case was gifted to me by GoCustomized.co.uk but all opinions on the site are my own and genuine, as I would never feature something on my blog that I wouldn't go out and buy myself.

    1. Aw thanks for such a sweet comment! It's definitely more tricky getting layers to look remotely stylish which is why I prefer summer clothes tbh. Yeah I was looking for some sensible black ankle boots for ages - but these are definitely the best I've found :) x
