My Perfect Pamper Evening Routine

15 November 2015

Is it just me, or are Sundays the best day to give yourself a bit of a pamper? Personally, there is nothing better than taking some time to treat yo'self before the next week ahead. I went home last weekend and fully made use of having a bath (#StudentProblems), so it seemed like an essential part of my trip to have a pamper evening before returning to university on Monday morning.

The first step in my perfect pamper evening is to run a bath and use a Lush bubble bar/bath bomb. This is the Golden Slumbers Bath Bomb (which first appeared on my most recent Lush haul), and on top of the glittery magic it creates, it does exactly as the name suggests; with a relaxing scent of lavender and chamomile oils, lavender absolute and neroli this bomb definitely eases you into the land of nod. If you follow me over on Instagram (@charlotte_dickson) you'll also know that I tried out the Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar too, which again has a gorgeous scent and is full of sparkle. Whilst soaking in the tub, I like to light a scented candle for some further aromatherapy and I'm still very much in love with my Lula-Ray Grapefruit and Bergamot Scented Candle (review here). I also like to catch up on my favourite Youtube channels like ViviannaDoesMakeup, SamanthaMariaOfficial and HelloOctober to unwind learn about the latest beauty products

Once I'm out the bath, I'll then put some relaxing music on and I'm currently loving Troye Sivan, The 1975 and James Bay. To moisturise ma bod, I'll apply BioOil to my problem areas (stretch marks, scars and keratosis pilaris) and then Soap & Glory's Butter Yourself  to the rest - this last one has the brand's Fruitigo fragrance, with notes of fig and orange oil so smells amazing and the formula is dreamily rich. Following this I'll then apply the Super Facialist by Una Brennan's Salicylic Acid Anti Blemish Clay Mask which I know I have raved about a couple of times (here and here), but honestly this is by far the best face mask to have worked at clearing my oily, blemish-prone complexion without stripping it of all it's moisture.

For some reason I always feel more put together when my nails are nicely painted, so I then go on to give myself a mini manicure. To prep my nails, I use the Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream and a hand cream too, this rose one is from Bulgaria but I've also been loving the L'Occitane Fleur Chérie Hand Cream recently. Despite pastels being associated with spring time, I'm still wearing Essie's Lilacism Nail Polish as it's one of my all-time favourites.

As a finishing touch to my pamper evening, I'll steal some of my mum's ThisWorks' Deep Sleep Pillow Spray as a few spritzs really help me to get a better night's sleep and I end up feeling more refreshed than usual in the morning.

What essential steps are part of your pamper evening routine?

  1. Sunday's are definitely for pampering! I wish I had a bath at home because it feels like I'm missing out on Lush baths.

I'd like to try that Una Brennan mask, and the ThisWorks pillow spray. I've heard so much about that spray.

The Burt's Bees Cuticle Cream sounds interesting, more so than the usual greasy cuticle oils.

    1. Aw I'm glad you agree! I don't have a bath in my rented house for university, so that's why I always make the most of it when I go home. I'd say definitely treat yourself to a shower cream though, as they are just as luxurious and it gives you a chance to try out Lush. The Una Brennan mask is amazing and I couldn't recommend it more and the spray is so dreamy. I've never actually tried cuticle oils but I love this butter and it makes my cuticles so soft :) x

  6. Sundays and the weekends in general are so good for pampering! You've picked some gems here but my favourite thing to use on a pamper night is probably any kind of face mask- they make me feel so spoilt.

  8. Your Sunday pampering is almost making my mouth water! I always mean to take a day before going back into a hectic week to treat myself and then I spend more time doing who knows what and never get around to it! I did actually just get out of the bath however and finished a book, so I have done something. Reading this I haven't agreed with someone more: a Lush bomb and James Bay, yes!

    1. Haha aww I'm glad you liked this post! I didn't manage to get my Sunday night pamper in this week unfortunately, so I'll be delaying it until tomorrow night after a hectic day at uni! Oh that definitely sounds productive and sounds like you had a bit of me time. Haha Lush + James Bay = perfect night in :) x
