I've been spendin', I've been spendin': Another Clothes Haul

18 October 2015

It feels like it was yesterday that I posted my last clothes haul, but really it was back at the beginning of August, so two months on is acceptable for another post right? This was a collective haul done over a few weeks and as some pieces were essential for my new term back at university, I'm trying to justify these purchases. Also kudos for those of you who got the Beyoncé reference in the title, 'cause I'm Drunk in Love with these pieces.

So, first things first how gorgeous are these trousers? I'm really trying to break out the habit of just wearing Topshop's Jamie Jeans, and these Zara Jacquard Loom Trousers are definitely going to help me do so. The cropped leg and shape around the hips is so flattering, and I feel oh so stylish prancing around town in this printed pair. The only downside is that they are dry-clean only *sigh*, and I didn't realise this until after purchasing them and falling in love (waa) - on the plus side I have a post coming soon on how I've styled them. Next up is is this pair of Black Converse. My burgundy pair  finally bailed on me and were so warn down, they actually had a hole in them... oops. I went for black this time, as the colour just goes with more and I can now pair my converse with black tights. For a gal studying in the North East of England its been pretty stupid unpracticle that I am so fussy with coats/jackets, as I have not owned a coat with a hood for about two years. But finally the hooded hiatus is finally over now that I own the Double Zip Lightweight Jacket from Topshop. I love the green colour to this; it's unfortunately a little short on the body, but it's still bloody brilliant.

You may recognise this Zara Basics Striped Shirt from my Interview OOTD blog post, but as it's a recent purchase I thought I'd chuck it in here. It is so soft and such a relaxed fit, yet is still quite smart at the same time. I've seen a couple of girls wearing this whilst out and about in London, so I know I'm not the only fan girl out there haha. Talking of tops, the cute cropped slogan Knitted Make the Boys Cry Tee is also from Toppers. The material is fairly see-through but with a nude bra I haven't found this to be a problem, and although the ends roll up (as they haven't been given a proper finish) I quite like the effect of it. Also with #TopshopStyle my Instagram selfie in this has somehow made it onto the brand's website (eek!!). The backpack was part of an Asos order but is by the brand Mi-Pac, and this is their Perforated Backpack in black. After years of using one shouldered bags for lugging around all my school/uni stuff, I have finally seen sense to invest in a backpack that won't further ruin my posture/back. I love the dimpled effect to this plasticy material and how it's waterproof, protecting my electrical goods and paper notes from being ruined by the typical British weather.

And although summer is definitely over, the likelihood of me and my family jetting off over the New Year is quite high so I caved into buying this swimming costume and dress that were under my 'Saved items' list for the whole of summer. Although these are both from Asos, neither are something I would normally buy because of their shape. The Swing Sundress in Batik Print is something I would normally avoid as I tend to only suit dress shapes that go in at the waist, but I thought the print was so fun and hippie-ish, that this would make a cute beach-coverup. I've also never owned anything as low cut as the High Waist Deep Plunge Swimsuit in Black, but after seeing this shape everywhere this summer I couldn't help but lust after this too.

So, there you have it for the latest additions to my ever-expanding wardrobe. What clothing items have you purchased recently?
