A Semi-Accidental/Totally on Purpose Lush Haul

4 October 2015

By 'semi-accidental/totally on purpose' I mean that I intended to go into Lush to repurchase my beloved Tea Tree Water (that I've raved about about here and here), but I came out with these instead. And no Tea Tree Water... My self-control is seriously tested every time I enter a store, but as baths are are non-existent in the student lifestyle, I figured I'd make the most of having a bath at home for the end of the summer. With a tonne of new releases from Lush cropping up over the blogosphere recently, I had eyed up the ones I wanted so here goes...

My first blogger enabled purchase was the Frozen Bath Bomb inspired by the Disney film itself. I had read some pretty good things about this bomb and with the description on the website asking 'Do you want to have a bath bomb? Do you want to splash and play?', I couldn't really say no. With grapefruit, rose and neroli oils the scent of this is made to be as uplighting as the film itself, and with swirls of silver, white and different shades of blues, the bath bomb swirled magically around my bath. I also emerged from the tub with subtle hints of the glitter on my skin, feeling like disney princess indeed.

Golden Slumbers bath bomb was another sparkler, but it wasn't one I had even read/heard about until I went into the Oxford Street store. This bomb is part of their exclusive Oxford Street collection (although it is also available online) and does exactly as the title suggests; with calming lavender and chamomile oils and lavender absolute and neroli (again) this scented bath definitely eases you into the land of nod.

As a big fan of the The Comforter bubble bar, I was really excited to hear that Lush were bringing out The Comforter Shower Cream as I love this scent. It really is a comforting fragrance with the main ingredient being cassis absolute with hints of bergamot and cypress oils, this berrylicious scent is warming and uplighting and is almost like a hug in a bottle - making it perfect for the upcoming colder months. The creamy formula to this makes it perfect for shaving with too, the only nag to this is that it doesn't lather quite as much as I would like but maybe that's just me being a bit picky? This also has hints of glitter in it too so is pretty to look at but won't leave you looking like you stepped right out of Twilight.

Violet haircare is well-known for reducing the brassiness of blonde tones and really bring out its colour. In the summer months, my hair gets natural highlights pretty quickly and because of this my ends are always blonder than my natural hair colour. Recently though I have been trying to get my   ends even lighter (more on that to come) and to really bring out the blondey parts of my hair I opted for a small bottle of Daddy-O Shampoo to trial the violet theory. And it works. My hair as a result is shinier, softer and my ends appear lighter and less orange-toned compared with my usual choice of shampoo. Nice one Lush *insert clapping emoji here*.

So there you have it for my mini haul. Have any of you tried these great products? What's your favourite brand for bath products?

    1. It really is such a lovely shower cream, and definitely allows you to take the bubble bar scent into the shower! I looove Snow Fairy, so the glitter in The Comforter was a bit like a Snow Fairy fix for the rest of the year. I daren't go in now that they've just launched the Christmas and Halloween products, because I think I'd end up buying one of everything :) x
