The Interview OOTD

2 September 2015

Shirt: Zara Basics | Vest: Next | Jeans: Topshop Jamie | Loafers: Next | Bag: H&M

This Friday I have an interview at my Student's Union and I thought I'd share with you what I plan on wearing. Although the majority of my peers are out finding grad jobs, I'm hoping this interview will prove successful and help me fund my masters degree. As the role is very general it could lead to working behind the Union's bar or at their shop, so I'll be opting for a smart casual option in terms of my dress.

This Zara Basics shirt is a recent purchase and is one of the softest pieces in my warbrobe. Although Zara is on the higher end of the high-street's price range, the brand never faulter in quality and this stripey number is no expection. I literally love this shirt (if you couldn't already tell?) and as it can equally be dressed up or down, I see it becoming a real staple in my wardrobe. The Topshop Jamie Jeans in black are also my favourite pair of jeans ever. The high rise waist, ankle grazer leg and skinny fit works well with my body (or should I say hip) shape, and these jeans are both comfy and smart looking.

I've had these Next loafers for probably too long, they saw me through sixth form, but with a bit of polish they are as good as new. I've more than worn them in so they will be comfy to wear during the interview and will allow me to walk around without griminacing at blisters, because let's face it, that would not be professional. This H&M handbag helped me through my third year of uni, and I'll be sporting this because the structure to it makes it look quite smart. On the beauty front, I'll be keeping things simple with a high pony-tail, nude nails (Seventeen's Lasting Fix Nail Polish in Forever) and makeup-wise I'll be opting for something a lot like the look I did for my graduation, but with a less complicated eye.

What do you think about this look? What's your favourite thing to wear to an interview?

    1. Ah thanks Alina! Yeah I wasn't trying to look super formal as the role was rather general - if it had been an office job I definitely would have dressed up a little more. But I do feel that this semi-relaxed look was the best to go for in this instance :) x

    1. Ah thank you Raj! Yeah interviews are tricky to dress for because before you go, its hard to access how formal it will all be and how you should be dressed until you actually get there. It actually went really well thanks and I got the job! Thank you, that means a lot to read - glad you like it :) x
