Magpie Moment: a Thing for Silver Bags

22 July 2015

When it comes to handbags I'm normally boring and just go for the simplest, blackest and most functional... until now. I was lucky enough to receive these handheld beauties for my birthday, and whenever I'm near them my inner magpie is unleashed and I turn into the heart-eyed emoji and swoon a lil' bit.

On the left you have a clutch bag by the brand Marc B as sold in Topshop. I can't actually find this online, but I believe its formal name is the Leanne Pouch, and is lined inside with the brand's trademark leopard print fabric. With a handy wrist-loop you can keep a hold of this soft, leathery clutch and despite its size, this pouch can fit all your daily/nightly essentials in it. I carried this around on my graduation day, which you can read more about in my previous post.

The second, is actually a makeup bag from New Look which you may recognise from my recent post Graduation: the Makeup Edit. The holographic, textured plastic changes hue according to the angle you look at it, turning from blue to turquoise to silver to pink, and it very fitting with the dreamy mermaid accessory trend which is everywhere at the moment. Though this sadly cannot hold all my makeup, I can fit my all-time favourite products in and this did me fine for my most recent holiday. I also used this as a clutch on my birthday night out, cause its just too darn pretty to stay inside.

Have you purchased any bags recently that you just can't get enough of? Do you own any mermaidy or magpie worthy accessories?

  3. I have a metallic snakeskin bag that I bought in London in 2009 when I was studying abroad there. I literally have carried it every day since. Literally!! (It holds my every day essentials like medication, eye drops and lipgloss, etc.) Love your picks too!

  5. I love these! Really want to get one myself, I've been stuck on black but metallics are just as easy to match and more eye catching.
